Eddy McPixel: Free Online Pixel Art Editor for Game Developers
Eddy McPixel is a free, browser-based pixel art editor built for indie
game developers, hobbyists and pixel artists. Draw sprites, retro game
art, icons and illustrations entirely in your browser; no installs and
no accounts required. It is tuned for game development, with seamless
tiling, tilesheet and tile-map editing, and reference-image tracing
built right in.
Work with a full toolset: pencil, eraser, flood-fill bucket and
eyedropper; pixel-perfect lines, rectangles and ellipses; unlimited
layers with opacity and thumbnails; curated colour palettes (Endesga 32,
PICO-8 and more); selections and magic-wand; mirror and symmetry
drawing; and non-destructive reference image guides.
Save your work as a portable .eddy project, export crisp
PNGs at 1×–16× scale, copy images straight to your clipboard, and keep
moving with comprehensive keyboard shortcuts. Your artwork is processed
locally in your browser and continuously auto-saved.

Frequently asked questions
Is Eddy McPixel free?
Yes; completely free, with no watermarks, no usage limits and no account. You own everything you create.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs entirely in your web browser on desktop and tablet. There is nothing to download or sign up for.
Can I make seamless tiles for my game?
Yes. Turn on wrap mode to paint across the canvas edges and preview your texture in a 3×3 grid to confirm it tiles without seams.
Does it support tilesheets and tile maps?
Yes. Define a tilesheet, edit any tile at full size, then use the Stamp tool to paint tiles onto a grid map and build whole levels.
Where is my artwork stored?
Everything is processed locally and auto-saved in your browser. You can also save a portable .eddy project file to reopen anywhere.
