From the first pixel to a finished, exported PNG: it's all here.
Pencil with optional pixel-perfect 1px cleanup, an eraser, a dithering brush, flood-fill bucket and an eyedropper to grab colours straight off the canvas. Adjustable brush size from 1–32px.
Pixel-perfect lines, rectangles and ellipses, each available as outline or filled. Outlines honour the brush size for thicker strokes that still keep their crisp edges, rectangles support toggleable rounded corners, plus a palette-locked gradient fill. Great for hard-edged geometry and clean tiles.
Drag to lay down a smooth gradient that only ever uses colours from your active palette, with an optional dither toggle for a dot-free blend. Or paint texture by hand with the dithering brush: a clean ordered pattern of any two colours.
Unlimited layers with live thumbnails, per-layer visibility and opacity, renaming, duplicate, merge-down, reorder and delete.
Switch between hand-picked palettes: Eddy Default, Endesga 32, PICO-8 and Grayscale: or add your own colours to the active palette.
Marquee select, magic-wand selection, copy/paste pixel regions, select-all and move: paste always lands on a fresh layer.
Draw symmetrically across horizontal, vertical or both axes at once. Move the mirror line anywhere on the canvas, type an exact position, and toggle a dashed guide line on or off. Perfect for characters, faces and balanced designs.
Define a whole tilesheet, then click any tile to edit it at full size with every tool. Jump back to the overview to see the whole sheet at a glance.
Turn on wrap mode to paint across canvas edges, and toggle a 3×3 tiling preview to check that your game tiles join cleanly with no seams.
Paint tiles onto a grid map with the Stamp tool, then capture new tiles straight from the canvas to grow your tilesheet as you build a level.
Rotate selections or layers in 90° steps and flip them horizontally or vertically: always crisp and pixel-perfect, never blurry.
Load any picture as a non-editable guide layer you can move, resize and fade: trace or match proportions without it ever being exported.
Export crisp PNGs at 1×–16× scale with a live preview, or copy the image straight to your clipboard to paste anywhere.
Every tool and action has a shortcut. Switch tools, resize brushes, mirror, undo, zoom and navigate without ever touching the mouse.
Save your entire project: canvas, layers, reference and palette: as a single portable .eddy file. Reopen it anywhere, anytime.
Your work is continuously saved to your browser and restored when you return: close the tab by accident and nothing is lost.
Nothing to install and no account to create. It works on desktop and is tuned for touch on tablets: your art stays on your device.
Completely free to use with no watermarks and no usage caps. Create as much art as you like and own everything you make.
A clean, distraction-free interface that gets out of your way.
A custom compositing engine alpha-blends your layers and scales the result with crisp edges, so every pixel stays razor-sharp at any zoom level.
Experiment freely with a generous undo/redo history: step back through your edits or jump forward again whenever you like.
Toggle the alignment grid, zoom from 1× to 64×, fit-to-screen in one click, and pan smoothly by holding space or using the hand tool.
Paint with your foreground colour on the left button and your background colour on the right, then swap them instantly with a single key.
Optional add-ons that keep your work safe and let you collaborate. See Premium →
Your palettes and canvases auto-save to your private account and restore on any device when you sign in. Never lose work to a cleared browser.
Publish a canvas as a shared document. Invite viewers or editors. Only one editor works at a time (it locks while they work). For viewing, you can have protected, no-edit access for everyone else.
Every save on a shared document is recorded with its author. Browse a GitHub-style timeline, see who changed what, and restore any earlier point.
The sponsored panel is hidden for Premium, giving your canvas more room. (Anyone can browse & import from the community Palette Repo for free.)
