The free editor stays fully usable without an account. Premium just adds the extras below.

What you get

Four Premium benefits, all designed to be non-intrusive.

Premium

Cloud backup

Your active palette and your canvases auto-save to your private account. Never lose work to a cleared browser or a new device again. Backups are private to you, no one at Eddy McPixel reads them.

Premium

Cross-device sync

Sign in anywhere and your palettes and most recent session restore automatically. Start a sprite on your laptop, finish it on your desktop.

Premium

Share & collaborate

Publish a canvas as a shared document and invite others to view or edit. Only one person edits at a time (it locks while they work), and every save is recorded in a GitHub-style version history. You see who changed what and restore any point.

Premium

Ad-free canvas

The sponsored panel disappears, giving your workspace more room to create. Ads only ever appear for free, anonymous use; never for Premium.

Always free

A free account unlocks the community Palette Repo (browse, import, like & publish palettes) and lets you view documents others share with you; no subscription needed.

Private by design

We don't view or use your files. Cloud backups are protected by Row Level Security and never reviewed by a person. Read our privacy policy.

How sharing & collaboration works

Sharing documents is a Premium feature; viewing is free.

1. Publish a document

Open a canvas and click Share in the top bar. Premium publishes it as a shared document; free users are offered an upgrade.

2. Choose who can access

Pick Invited only (just people you add) or Anyone with link, and set the default link permission to Can view or Can edit. Copy the link to share.

3. Edit one at a time

While someone is editing, the document is locked, others see a "X is editing" indicator and can view (toggle layers, inspect the art) but can't draw. When they stop or close the tab, the lock releases automatically.

4. Version history

Every save creates a version with its author and timestamp. Open History to browse the timeline, see who changed what, and restore any earlier version (restoring is itself recorded, so nothing is lost).

5. Protected viewing

Viewers get a read-only canvas: drawing and export are disabled, and right-click / drag / selection are blocked as a best-effort deterrent. (Like any web image, a determined viewer can still screenshot; this raises the bar, it isn't DRM.)

Try Premium

Open the editor and click "Go Premium" or the Share button to get started.
